New Years Eve day was dark, dreary and rainy. I wasn't anxious to go out and hit the town, but Handy Man was. So was Star Wars Son. He was planning on having his girlfriend over and then going to the Seattle Center to go ice skating and ride the carousel. It was decided that after the girlfriend arrived we would go downtown and the two older teens would travel on to the Seattle Center while Handy Man, Dancing Daughter and myself would stay downtown to shop and look at the sights.
We decided to try out the new light rail train that recently opened.

I didn't take my camera because it was just raining too heavily and I didn't want to worry about it getting wet. The trip on the train was great. It's so easy to park, for free, and ride. Our round trip was very reasonably priced too. It was fast and not stinky like the buses are.
The last stop on the light rail ride is Westlake center, so this was the first stop in our shopping/looking adventure.

My first stop, after the bathroom, was Lush. Do you all know about Lush?! They make and sell my most favorite bath stuff in the whole world!
Waving Not Drowning - The best bath bomb ever invented.
I purchased a few of those pretty little creatures! I also took advantage of their buy one get one free sale they have every year after Christmas! That means I got two of these Christmas gift boxes for the price of one! I love Lush!
Then we went to a game store and bought this game called Fact or Crap to play that night while waiting to ring in the new year.

Speaking of ringing in the new year, the party, such as it was, was very uneventful therefore successful. SWS only had one friend over and Dancing Daughter had two. They were all well behaved and stayed out of each others way.
The only really embarrassing thing was while Handy Man and I teamed up to play Fact or Crap against DD and her friend I was supposed to read a question about Uranus. This struck me as funny, very funny, so funny in fact that I started laughing and couldn't stop! This caused DD to proclaim me immature and abandon the game playing. I had to excuse myself to the bathroom to stop myself from laughing. Just to clarify, I was not drinking! I ended up only having a glass of wine with dinner and that was it. It was just one of those things.
I, for one, was happy to ring in the new year on a laughing jag, that has to mean good things ahead!
