...The digging out of and sorting of recipes. My goal is to one day make a cooking scrapbook complete with photos of the finished product. For now I have assorted magazines, books and loose sheets of paper that I sort through for my favorite recipes.
Every year we have a holiday open house. We invite all our friends and family to stop by for some baked goods and a cup of cheer. I do all the baking with some help from Dancing Daughter. I usually start earlier than now, but between scrapbooking weekends and the sunshine we've had I haven't had the time or the inclination to bake.
I finally got a start over the weekend. This year I decided to do the harder and more time consuming baking first so when time is short I can whip out the easier stuff as the day of the open house gets closer. Dancing Daughter spied a cheesecake bar cookie she wanted to try so we made those first.
Second I made these babies. This is a recipe I had been wanting for years. Recently Asthmagirl posted it for all her bloggy friends to have. I'm so lucky to be a bloggy friend of hers!! I highly recommend you make these heavenly delights.
How about you? Do you bake during the holiday season? What are your favorites?
You did not start baking already!!!! And you started with Snowballs?? Great! Now I've got the yen!

I love love love your recipe scrapbook idea! How fun! I'm thinking of making a recipe book of all our family favorites for my son for christmas who recently moved out.
I love to bake during the holiday season..it's really the ONLY time I like to bake. We don't keep a lot of baked goods in the house because we're always in training for something or other and I'm always on a diet, but who can resist the holidays? Not me! LOL

Of course, it never occurred to me to do a scrapbook of recipes. What a great idea!
As you probably already know, I give away my canned jars of hot sauce & chow-chow as Christmas presents, which means I'm now done. It's a good thing too. Since Christmas is my most favorite holiday, I spend waaay too much time on the decorating process...
