It has happened. The thing I've avoided throughout all the fall. I got the crude (also known as the crud! Hey! It's the "crude crud". I have to stop blogging at 5:30 am!). SWS has had it, twice. Bri-Bute has had it. Handy Man still has it. I've been attacked by the sore throat, tight chest, headache and plugged sinuses of the common cold. Grrrrrrrr. I'm not happy about this. What I am is tired and achy! I will be resting, medicating and drinking lots of fluids today after I go to work and to a PSO meeting at Dancing Daughters school.
I have an update on Dancing Daughter and Star Wars Son.
The aliens are just messing with me all over the place. Sunday night Dancing Daughter seemed back to her old self complaining about her school work she didn't get done. "It's not my fault the assignments are so hard and stupid." "My teacher doesn't explain anything to me. She wants us all to fail." Uhhhh, yeah last time I checked failing was exactly what teachers want for their students. (If you could see me, I'd be rolling my eyes while I said that.) After that outburst she asked me if I'd make her pancakes for breakfast the next morning. Hahahahaha...No. First I only make pancakes from scratch on the weekends. Second, because of number one I have no pancake mix. She calmly said, "fine, I'll just wake up early and make them myself." And she did?! What the $@%# is going on?! I think I need get used to the fact that on the one hand she's growing up and on the other hand she's still a kid. My head hurts!
Star Wars Son got out of his math class, thanks to Handy Man's conversation with the school counselor. She admitted ultimately it was our decision but she still wants him to take higher level math next year. I guess we will deal with it one semester at a time. She put him in the only business class that was available. It's a retail management class that operates the school store at lunch. SWS will learn how to use a cash register, do inventory, stock shelves and learn about customer service. This class will look good on a resume, should he try to get a retail job this summer.
Now you're updated! I'm off to have some tea with honey and lemon.
Glad that worked out for your son. I was talkign to my sister about it, she's a special ed teacher, and she said to go above the counselor if it didn't work out. Some parents have no idea how much power they really have.
Can't believe she made her own pancakes. I mean, good for her, but wow. When I was her age you couldn't get me out of bed ten seconds earlier than I absolutely had to (wait...that's how I am now!) not even for pancakes.

Get better soon--it's too late for you now, but I swear by Zicam nasal swabs. It's been 4 years since I've been sick.
I'm glad the math thing worked out.

I'm such a shitty blog buddy - excuse the french, it's late and the filter that goes from my brain to my fingers has been turned off. Soooo sorry you were sick, are you feeling better? That crud hangs on - I still have a touch of it, but instead of having to work I was able to completely laze around and be a slacker.
Here's hoping your crud clears up fast (if it hasn't already - I'm reading backward to play catch up).
